That was me, although, if the magazine printed my address as 3188 Parthenon
Avenue, that might explain why I didn't get any replies. I lived at 3166,
rather than 3188.

Yes, that was me. I never did succeed in getting that oscilloscope working
(I bought it second-hand from someone who had built it partway from a kit,
then lost interest). I no longer own it.

It's a Vu-Data PS-940 which I know nothing about so I Googled it and at the
bottom of the page was a link to an old 1982
