I have often been misquoted in the press, to my embarrassment. I think we
need to be very careful not to be seen to be unsupportive in the public eye,
and this is after all a relatively public list.

Apologies, I was under the impression that the pipers list was a forum
for self expression and discussion. I was not aware there was a
required censorship in case the truth about these pretenders reaches
the public domain.

Hello,
I am new to the list, and to Northumbrian piping. I recently acquired a set
of Northumbies and I'm wondering if there might be any pipers lurking in
my neck of the woods, specifically Illinois.
Thanks and kind regards,
Cliff Harrison

Just a tiny question, Lisa. You don't happen to have a child of your own who
enters NSP competitions, do you? Just curious.
Cheers,

While I realise that many of you will know her and have heard her play for

Are we suggesting that she is (a) a bad musician,
Quite.
Shouting at the referee may not be unusual in a football match but in
a musical competition anything equivalent is certainly unacceptable.
I was present at both recent Bellingham competitions and thought that

Paul, I stopped saying Northumbies as advised, and my piping still sounds

Thanks, too, to Chips and Mark for your helpful information.

Dear all
Three questions - one of them quite random and probably best addressed

Does the London group still meet? I have been on the mailing list for
the Oxford group for quite a while but have never made it there due to

Beware of the press. The same article had Katherine pictured in her

Now the stupid question - is there any reason why I shouldn't play
while pregnant?
Of course. Peacock tunes only, though. It might the last chance to
save the world.

Hi folks -
I would like to point out that Lisa Ridley joined the nsp mailing

Are you also opposed to giving out grades in school, as it might
