Only internally at the moment, but I could add a variable
in the os library (after I figure out which of the sizeof()'s
is the best one to use).
Best wishes,

Thanks. That was a stupid mistake. It works fine now.

Hi,
I am back to trying Metapost. I spent sometime yesterday and today

I think I will try to write a simple tutorial with it.
Meanwhile, I just updated my installation of Context minimals. The

OK, I did a nasty thing. I have patched "setuptex" to run 64-bit
binaries on Snow Leopard.
There is only one problem: mtxrun doesn't know that one is running on
a 64-bit platform and consequently fetches just 32-bit binaries.
Consequently one needs to call mtx-update with "--platform=osx-64". I

No, what you need is \placetable[split,...]{...}{...}.
You don't need starttables/stoptables because the table environment goes

Thanks, Alan.
I tried that---it is what I ordinarily use---and am sad to report that it makes
no difference: the problem persists.

I believe that you need to use \starttables\stoptables
rather than \starttable\stoptable.

I adapted the file that you sent me so that the table extends beyond one page.
But, as you will see, the table still prints on just one page. Moreover, if I
set split=repeat, the header prints twice (?) more.

I learned about selectors from this mailing list.
Before, I had used \nomarking{}, but I believe
that this has been eliminated in mkiv.
The selector mechanism is cleaner, and my use
is typically for figure and table captions.
I have no experience with \startchapter.

Hello Luigi,
You can add the option "--extras=all" to first-setup.sh to get all the
contributed modules.
