But "context --purge(all)" gives me:
-bash: syntax error near unexpected token `('
Did I misunderstand something?

I did use ctxtools for purging files. But now the command is not found
any longer. I installed new minimals, but that didn't help.

Does this work?
rsync -av \
rsync://contextgarden.net/minimals/current/context/current/ \
/usr/local/mactex/texmf.loc

Taco,
Thanks. But it works in my office, but not in my colleague's office.
I have gwtex and he has mactex.
Admitting my ignorance, what is a proxy server?

Check you network connection, you could be behind a firewall
that prevents direct access to the internet. You can specify
a proxy server on the commandline with --pr
All,
If you run:
ctxtools --updatecontext
And it just hangs and times out, what should you try?

Dear gang,
ctxtools are not behaving here:

but I have provided the texmfroot as you can see. Something has apparently
changed in recent editions of context.
Please advise!

All,
Why does ctxtools --purgefiles meta miss the two files shown below
(.keep is ignored and .tuo is not removed)?
context $ ctxtools --purgefiles meta

Thanks Peter, Zhichu and Syste
I tried Peter's suggestion of renamining the gunzip file to unzip but got
the output below. It didn't extract the cont-tmf.zip due to an invalid
option but did continue on. So I tried Zhichu and Syste's suggestion and
that worked great.
Thank you all for your help
There already exists a file 'gunzip.exe' in the
...\context\tex\texmf-mswin\bin directory. You can rename this file into
unzip.exe.
Even better: maybe Hans could rename this file already into unzip.exe in
the standalone version.

Hi Keith
You don't have unzip in your path. I've met the same problem first time I
use Hans' minimal context distribution on Windows. Then I download a
gnuwin32 version of unzip from:
http://gnuwin32.sourceforge.net/downlinks/unzip-bin-zip.php
and I extract the files under /bin directory to $wher

I'm having a bit of a problem when I run
texmfstart ctxtools --update
The output is given below.

CtxTools | updating F:/isoimage/usr/local/context/tex/texmf-local

Hi,
is it possible that the ruby script version numbers are not always updated?
I am getting a 648 line diff file when I compare two different 1.3.3
versions of the ctxtools.rb file.
One of them, the smaller and older one, had some problems with quotes
around environment variables, and it coul
