Seen this before.
Do you have the Dell Open Management tools installed? If so it will report
what firware the drives are. Likely you will find that you have mismatching
firmware and that will cause the drive to fail.

Faulty backplane. Had it happen a couple of times on 2650 and the older
4400/4300. Nothing to do but replace or migrate if you don't have a
