thanks charles. i just usermod'ed the usen "nut" to group aid_usb and that
seems to make no difference. good idea though. thanks!

Your recollection is spot-on. The UPS is exactly the same unit. But the
system talking to it is a new one replacing the one from back then. It
is similar in that it is an Android TV box running Ubuntu in a chroot
environment. But the Android and kernel versions are different - perhaps
