This afternoon Jim Pawlicki and myself birded Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge from Noon until the rain attacked at around 5:00 PM. The highlight was once again a high number of GULL-BILLED TERNS, this time coming out to an astounding 24 adults sitting at the Raunt area on the East Pond at one time

My Adirondack expedition this past couple of days turned out to be fantastic birding.  I got almost all my target birds which included many boreal breeders.  The highlights of the trip were a Spruce Grouse with two young, a female Black-backed woodpecker, and great views of Boreal chickadee,
