I went to check out the spring birding at Hunters Garden off Rte 51
Eastport, and was surprised to see that they have put a yellow metal barrier
across the entrance so that one can no longer drive in to view the birds.

I have little to add to Jacob Drucker's report of sightings, except a
few notes on migration movement: it was somewhat surprising to see
how many (in overall numbers of) migrants moved on immediately after

good afternoon of birding at Croton Point Park. I surveyed the park for
about 3 hours and saw 61 species. birds included 25 American Kestrels (pretty

Central Park was still quite productive today, as I personally tallied 61
species in the park today, and a few other species were reported by others.
(i.e. american woodcock). Highlights from today included BLUE-HEADED VIREO,
PURPLE FINCH, numerous PINE, PALM and YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS

Re-found by Colleen and Bobby Veltri who were searching with Eric Miller and
many others. Seen near edges of 76 avenue and Cloverdale Blvd. The bird is

Joe Giunta, Sam Jannazzo and I (Sy Schiff) started at Hempstead joining the
South Shore Audubon Group and then continuing tot Alley. There was much

Bob Kurtz just called to report his discovery of a Yellow-throated Warbler at
Alley Pond Park, Queens.
The location is an area to the west of Little Alley that is known informally as
"Acadian Gully."
