Hit a few sites this morning while running errands on Long Island. Lots of
shorebirds but not a lot of variety - best thing was two juvenile WESTERN
SANDPIPERS with nice bright scapulars with a group of SemiPs at Jones Beach
Coastguards Station.

A not particularly birdy morning at SMSP was highlighted by a good number of
Vireos foraging through the trees in the company of Black-capped Chickadees. We
patiently looked over the mixed flocks, which was dominated by Red-eyed Vireos
with a few Warbling Vireos mixed in. At our last stop along
This morning at 7:10 A.M. I found a Connecticut Warbler at the Bashakill WMA.
The bird was located, in what most people familar with the Bashakill call the
Deli fields. If you are coming in from Route 17 on 209 you pass the Haven Road
exit and follow Rt. 209 until you see the Westbrookville Deli
