bulkhead that was adrift ~1 mile offshore of Blue Point on the Great South
Bay this afternoon. They were wearing their masks for Halloween.

that didn't mean anything to you, you weren't going to get there before
dark, anyway. Alley (Pond) Park is in northeastern Queens (NYC). It lies
between the Cross Island Parkway, Grand Central Parkway, Clearview

A couple of people asked me to keep them posted, so here goes. It did indeed
get dark. Only a Redstart, which Eric says was in loose company with the

Eric Miller just reported a Virginia's Warbler in Alley Park, where Acadian
nested in 2000. Getting dark soon, but I'm heading over there to see if it
can be relocated.

I did have a single Leach's pass close to shore at the jetty at the end of East
Lake Drive this afternoon. Otherwise few storm birds. Winter birds are
arriving though with Snow Buntings, Ipswich Sparrows and Purple Sandpipers all
noted at their usual winter spots today.

The devastation is as Andrew Baksh described. Besides the breach in the

East Pond itself seems OK but the boardwalk and blind on the EP are both
ruined making it difficult to see anything there.

I would like to correct a common misconception that the West Pond at
