I viewed a nice looking CACKLING GOOSE in Riverhead this afternoon at about
2:00 PM. The Goose was showing a perfect, white collar around the base of its
neck. It was feeding along the north side of Sound Avenue, just east of the
CR-105 intersection. There were at least 1,000 Canada Geese in
I have posted some photographs of yesterday's interaction between the Gilgo
Beach Gyrfalcon and a Peregrine to my Flickr site
http://www.flickr.com/photos/jeffamy/ . It was about 4:40 pm when the Gyr
decided it wanted to take the "closest" osprey platform from the peregrine
standing on it.
Had the Gyrfalcon from far away at Gilgo Bch. this am from about 930 to 1140am.
It was in the same area off of the main lot as previously reported. Also had
a flock of about 50 White-winged Crossbills, 6 Killdeer, and 4 Horned Larks
near the CG Station.
