I was sent a picture by Ed Mertz of a Snowy Owl at Fort Totten today --
sitting in a tree of all things. This is at the other end of Little Neck
Bay, just a couple of miles north of the site noted below. Maybe?

No luck today at Gilgo Beach searching for the Gyrfalcon. The easternmost
osprey platform had a feeding Peregrine Falcon upon returning after checking
neighboring areas the Peregrine moved to the westernmost Platform, but still no
Gyrfalcon. Good luck to all who go searching for this bird.

A late afternoon check of Coney Island Creek and the adjacent shoreline
west to Norton Point yielded a few notable sightings.
1 Glaucous Gull (continuing bird. Spotted at roughly 3:15 flying in from
the ocean side and sitting down on the water halfway to the bridge)
1 Adult Iceland Gull. Spotted

Dear All,
I have been saving emails about snowy owls but as I am new to the area I
am writing this to hopefully help me distill recent sightings of this
species.
I have to drive down to JFK (from Westchester County) this Monday
afternoon at 2. On the way back I would like to stop at 1-2 place
