I've posted pictures at my web site http://stevewalternature.com . I haven't studied the Cackling Goose complex to the extent that others have, but to me these appear to be different subspecies. One is clearly larger and longer necked - even longer necked than most of the surrounding canadensis

I had a productive day at the Massapequa Preserve today. I saw 37 species (listed on ebird), the highlights being a late season phobe, a Lesser Black-backed Gull on Massapequa Lake resting on the southeast corner of the lake with a large flock of other gulls, and a male Eurasian Wigeon. The
