At about 10 minutes before 11am this morning Randall Rothenberg and I were
birding/photographing at the East Pond near the Raunt when 3 birds flew over
together heading south at a good clip. I was able to get

Nevertheless, I managed to complete the schlep up the pond from the south
end and back. Shorebird numbers remain much the same from yesterday. I
observed a total of 11 species including the continuing *STILT* and *WESTERN

I birded the pond along with Michael Yuan, Paige Linden Brams and Chris ?
(Sorry Chris, I did mention that I was really bad at names). There were very
very few shorebirds there just after high tide this afternoon. Numbers were
about as follows:
North End;
25 Short-billed dowitchers
5 Greater

A late afternoon slog along the North West end of the East Pond where I
caught up with Lloyd Spitalnik and Don Riepe turned up many of the same
species reported recently. Of note, were a couple of Black-bellied Plovers
in breeding plumage. We also had a couple of good candidates for *
