Joe Giunta and I (Sy Schiff) found the bar at the marina covered with
shorebirds. They included AMERICAN OYSTERCATCHER, BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER,
DUNLIN, several RED KNOT, and 2 RUDDY TURNSTONE. Several FORSTER’S TERN flew
over the bar. In the inlet were 3 COMMON EIDER, SURF SCOTER and a RED-THRO

After scanning from the Coast Guard Station, Joe Giunta and I (Sy Schiff) then
walked to the inlet. That's when the blizzard arrived. We returned to our cars
and drove over to WE #2. A crowd (50+) of SNOW BUNTINGS erupted in the driving
snow along the parking lot

have either added a new migrant or the two birds don't like each other.

At Jones Beach, the LAPLAND LONGSPUR continues near the gazebo with HORNED

looking for Harlequin Ducks without success. Along the way, we picked up a few

Joe Giunta's 200 Challenge Club looked for early winter birds along the South
Shore of LI.Starting at Jones Beach, we looked into the inlet and birded
the exposed bar at the marina. The number of shorebirds increased as high tide
