After missing it last Thursday, I visited SoFo again today and the
orange-crowned warbler showed. The fields on the museum property also are
productive. The 10 meadowlark continue, and although I didn't refind the
phoebe, towhees or fox sparrow, I suspect they are still around.

A first year bird was at the model airplane field. I was fortunate to get a
photo of it perched on one of the fences.
The cap at Croton Point has been extensively plowed in the last week. There is
very little grass of any kind left. There were no raptors at all on or over the
cap for about 45 m
A lady from Kingston, Ulster County called in to my radio show this
afternoon saying that she thought she was seeing a female Painted Bunting
in her yard (actually landing and pecking at the windshield of her car).
She later sent me photos - which as it turns out were of an Orange-crowned
Warbler.
There's an Orange-crowned Warbler present in the Oakland Lake Wildflower

I led a walk this morning at NYBG for NYC Audubon - normally the Botanic
Gardens are the realm of the inimitable Debbie Becker of course, but I venture
up there now and then.
It was a gorgeous day today, but there didn’t seem to be much in the way of new
migratory movement, which surprised me g
I just saw an orange-crowned warbler, hanging out with the white-throated

Hello
Earlier today did I come across an Orange-crowned Warbler at Crab Meadow Beach

I will tell you where these warblers were:

I came across an Orange-crowned Warbler late this afternoon in the Alley

At Kissena Park in Queens, NYC I spotted an Orange-crowned Warbler and a
Hermit Thrush along the dirt path between the velodrome and 164th Street.
There was a lot of bird activity, 15 species in 30 minutes, centered on
some puddles that the birds were using as a waterhole and some sumac trees.

The field across from Oakland Lake (northeastern Queens) is still pulling in
migrants, with an ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER there today. Still some sparrows in
there, with 2 Savannahs most interesting. While they've been common
throughout migration, it seems late for that now. They seem to have been
