The Yellow-breasted Chat reported last week at Hudson Yards has stuck around to
make it on the NYC CBC bird count week. However, did not find last week's
reported Ovenbird or Wood Thrush (interestingly, I had a Wood Thrush in Hudson
Yards until the first week of December 2019).

the Coast Guard Station at Jones Beach. It was along the western edge of a
somewhat open bowl, observed at these coordinates: (40.5886626,-73.5587467).
The bird appeared while I was pishing for warblers, dropping out
Yellow-breasted Chat by the bat house just west of the visitor’s center on
the trail south of the West Pond at Jamaica Bay.

For those thinking of trying tomorrow, it should be noted that the Chat
started ranging over a wider area after spending the morning in the area
noted below. I last saw it at the start of the West Pond trail, under the
large cedar on the right (next to the lower entrance to the south garden).

Bob Anderson found a Yellow breasted Chat on the path to the fishing piers
by the WestvEnd 2 fishing piers at Jones Beach State Park. The bird has

Getting the word out on a chase-worthy species through as many outlets as
possible. A Yellow-breasted Chat has been seen at least twice in the past hour
and a half on the western edge of Central Park's Maintenance Field. It has been
spotted feeding on berries, somewhat surprisingly in the upper

At least one Yellow-breasted Chat is present this morning at Hopeland Sanctuary
in Staatsburg. At least one, and maybe two, have been reported over the past
two days. From the parking area on Old Post Road, cross the bridge, turn right
on the trail into the field, and look along the trail to the

Today while on our weekly Thursday morning South Shore Audubon Society
bird survey at Hempstead Lake State Park. We found a Yellow-breasted
Chat just to the west of the north end of Macdonald pond. A Chat was

While walking along the dirt road to the very end of Orient Point, a Chat was

at ~12:20p. The bird was in the lawn/garden along 5th Ave. south of the
southern lion. At 1:45p a photographer reported seeing it on the upper
level near the north edge and just east of the library.
