11/15/13 Long Lake (Hamilton Co.)
On our drive from Long Lake to Tupper Lake for a memorial service, I spotted
2 Gray Jays foraging at the side of the road near John Dillon Park (along
Route 30). I have been observing Gray Jays in this location on about 50% of
my drives - possible the home

Tuesday night around 9:30, a whip-poor-will was calling south of Stewart Ave,
west of Gabreski Airport in Westhampton.Earlier Tuesday night, the chuck wills
widow was not heard in Quogue.The yellow throated warbler was seen at the
entrance to the fish hatchery (across from the comfort stations)
Our first 2011 trip was a success for finding pelagic birds, cetaceans, and
sea turtles. The totals were:
250 Short-beaked common dolphins
1 Leatherback Sea Turtle
1 Ocean Sunfish
400 Greater Shearwaters
1 Northern Gannet
1 Sooty Shearwater
10 Corey's Shearwater
40 Wilson's Storm
Our first 2011 trip was a success for finding pelagic birds, cetaceans, and
sea turtles. The totals were:

Greetings,
Residents, spring migrants, and lingering winter visitors were present
throughout the sanctuary this morning.
Lingering winter residents included a half-dozen White-throated Sparrows and a
flock of nearly two dozen Dark-eyed Juncos.
