For just such an occasion when you forget to arm the vehicle alarm, place a
little penlite battery operated gadget which has a red light flashing in
exactly the same fashion as an alarm.
They cost less than R 20.
The idea is to have this gadget on 24/7 and if you are concerned about battery

Good thought but don't rely too much on it. I installed one after two car
break-in where they stole my radios in die Bo-Kaap way back during 1975's.
Within two days of installing a new radio and one of those nice bright
flashing light they cut open and ruined my sun roof and did the worse dama

These Hi-jackers will stalk you to a parking lot or mall, after

When number plates are stolen, it is usually to swop with plates on a stolen
car for the purpose of robberies, etc, so this new phenomenon tells me that
these guys are not 2 bright,..
