Deve ; 1st. I've heard of this . Since the drum will be held in place once the road wheel is bolted up , why sweat the rivets ? . Back in ther 60's , many vehicles were this way and once you replaced the drums , no one ever re-installed the rivets... It's like the speed nuts used on GM cars

Nate, This is a common thing on modern cars too, right? Many cars I have seen over the years have screws that hold the rotor to the assembly, but you can bet that shops never reinstall those screws after they destroy them taking them off. I always thought they were just there for safety reas
