There's a '55 GMC 1 ton dump truck with no engine and a 4 speed
transmission for sale for $500. Cab looks OK, frame looks good, all the
interior is there, dump bed is PTO driven off the 4 speed.
Any thoughts as to value?

We'll last night we tried to put my new Offy and some Fentons on my '53

We spend an hour and a half fighting the Fentons. At first everything
looked great. We needed to grind a little for the first bolt hole, and

Have you guys seen this web site? found it via google.
A great selection of intakes, headers and fix it kits for manifold leaks.
Also says they'll fit your Fentons to your intake if you buy both from them.

I'm looking for the bottom/shorter of the two column left lever arms
that drives the transmission linkage. Turns out, this is a difficult
part to find. Anybody got one lying around?

I need to shorten the longer of the two shift linkage arms. Can I remove
the shaft and the mechanism from the housing with the top half off but
leaving the bottom half attached to the steering column?
The entire housing was full of grease and there was no gasket between

I'm going to modify one of the arms on the column shift mechanism so
that it will clear the Offy dual intake.
Is the travel of the arm limited by the mechanism in the steering
column, or strictly by the transmission. That is, if I make the arm
shorter, will the linkage travel by shortened or wi

So I was told by the vendor that there would no problem between the Offy

it on today, there was no way I was going to be able to shift with the
Offy on. Someone here had mentioned that they had a problem and devised

I ordered the Offy 2 carb intake for my 53 235 in my 3/4 truck. I went
to order a pair of Carter YF's to go on it and was amazed by the number
of different Carters that will go on that era 235. What specific model
numbers do you guys suggest for the Offy intake?

Patrick and Patricks said that he believed there is a clearance problem
using the Offy dual intake on a truck with column shift - can anyone
confirm that?
Also, I know someone out there is running a 2 barrel carb on a single
intake. I'd like to hear how that's going. Is it a sequenced carb? Are
re if a guy owned
the truck since it was new, he would have probably replaced the carb at
some point with something with better performance (mileage and
performance) and an automatic choke.
