'55.2/'56 GMC 3/4 ton trucks used a rear end listed as "GM SS H050" in
the GMC Maintenance Manual.
Did Chevy use the same rear end on 3/4 ton models?
Did GMC and/or Chevy use the same rear end on earlier models?

Ole Chevy and GMC trucks
I'm quite sure that the Chevy banjo style 3/4 and 1 ton rears were called
HO72 up till about 1972 when they quit using them. I don't know when they
started using them but they were definitely around in the early fifties.

The H072 was the one ton part, the H050 was 3/4 ton according to the GMC
Master Parts Book, which uses the same drawings but different part
