I was walking through a local wrecking yard today looking for some parts and what did I happen to see but a 1966 Toronado, or what was left of it. I popped the hood and sure enough the B headed 425 was all there intact, except for the carb. The motor is locked solid and has probably been that

Get it, pull the whole engine/trans/final drive package. DON'T damage the crossover shaft under the center of the engine. You can probably get your money back just by selling an intact switch pitch transmission and the 3.21 final drive to the GMC motorhome guys. Then there is the forged

For $50.00 I'd grab the engine Marty. Take what ever pulleys or other parts are attached to it. You should be able to make some money on the parts unless they are extremely rusted. I was at one of the local wreckers today and they didn't have any thing older then 1975 in the yard.( I need parts

Marty, With this motor sitting for so long with no carb on it and being as it is seized up, is it still worth pulling out. Is there anything salvageable or worthwhile on it that I should get the whole motor. Yes, get the whole engine. That engine is a perfect candidate for rebuilding.

Assuming no changes to the tires, does making a car lighter improve overall traction and handling, or worsen it? I was thinking that being lighter might make traction worse simply because there's less downward force on the tires. But on the other hand . . a heavier car has more inertia.
