According to my 68 sales book you are right. As far
as impolite he may be having a bad day at the lot and
Lord knows I have plenty of those myself. I just got
all upset because the car was darn near perfect a
couple of weeks ago and DA puts an incorrect strip on
it. WHY? Just stupid! Then

Thanks for the clarification. I probably would have
received a nicer reply had I explained it as well as
you did.

Gene,
The stripe is not centered on eBay 4638587249 and eBay 4637311942. Is the
stripe correct on eBay 4637669810? It seems a little too far back toward the
door, whereas the first 2 are way too far forward, at the edge of the
wheelwell. I've seen some people screw up and run the stripe over t
Hmm.
A friend of mine had a 1970 Hemi Cuda, six pack in Plum Crazy with a bench
seat, vinyl roof and an automatic. One owner,
ordered that way from the factory. He could never take that to a show
without listening repeatedly from the numerous
experts telling him how unoriginal his car was
Kerry,
I believe the seller has another problem. Weren't '68 442 with AC *and
automatic* 325 HP? A 350 HP engine was not available with AC and automatic
in a '68 442.
Also, he's rather impolite.

I'm confused...why is that stripe incorrect? I've seen that kind of a
stripe
on several 68 442s...and IIRC,if the car were original without it, the

It's interesting however, though I am not certain about this case, that just
about every car model out there seems to
have a few oddities that conflict with what is known (or assumed) to be correct.

Regardless of what you say, I have a restoration 442
book that shows the band was a factory option. I did
not add it, it was that way when I bought it. Who
cares any way and for your additional information this
car is not molested!!
