Hello list, at the moment i am trying to get afs working on sles9. I am building it from source, which works fine unitl i want to start the bosserver. If i start the server with # bosserver -noauth I don't get any error message, but ps ax does not show a bosserver process running. If i start

This should go in an FAQ somewhere. You can set a probe interval with fs checks -interval but that's not quite what you want because it only sets the interval for down servers. There is a fs discon command that will put you in to nat mode, where all servers will be probed at 60 second interval.

We've been having some problems with AFS volumes spontaneously going offline. There is nothing in the logs that indicate a problem. After running salvage we are able to get them back online. This may have occured during some related volume moves but that is just a best guess. File servers:
