I'm working with OpenSuSe 10.1 systems which authenticate against active
directory. User homedirs are located on AFS completely.
Recently I've started using the program krenew to renew my krb5 ticket and afs
token in order to be able to leave the computer running for a longer period
I am trying to install the OpenAFS 1.4.2 on FC5. These are the
characteristic of my machine

Cache manager is unhappy with latest Solaris 10 kernel changes,
at least for 1.4.2.

Opensuse 10.2. Version is 1.4.2.
Now I wanted to configure afs. But when I start
/usr/local/sbin/bosserver -noauth
Boslog says:
server Directory access is okay
Now, when I try to initialize the afs cell, I get the

at 95%.
Some of those apps might work with customized wrapper scripts, but for
the most part not.

OpenAFS definitely has been used in (some variant of) this way, with at
least some success. You might find some reference to such on the
openafs-info list from a few years go. I have not seen formal
discussion of the results.
