How is the framebuffer memory organized? e.g. if I open /dev/fb0, mmap it and try to draw stuff, is each pixel 18 bits, or 3 bytes aligned in a particular way? It sort of funky. Here's a couple of macros: #define xze2_writeRGBpixelTo666(p,R,G,B) { p[0]=((G0x0C)4)|(B2);

http://www.smart-clip.com/ Hmm, I have seen such devices. Seems to be a real business around this kind of stuff. I still doubt that they could unbrick your device if you have messed up the bootloader. I was hopeful because they show diagrams on their support site for connecting

I'm going to start experimenting with the bootloader on my V8. Any suggestions for what to do if I brick the phone? (I.e. can't boot into the bootloader.) Anything I can do before I start?Is there any sort of hardware (like a Smart-Clip) I can use with the MotoMAGX and/or EZX phones to

LiMo API docs available

2008-04-16 Thread Patrick Roberts
The LiMo foundation has their API docs publically available in PDF form. http://www.limofoundation.org/technical-documents.html The MotoMAGX phones are listed on the LiMo Handset page. Oddly, I'm not sure how much of that is real. It may just be for Motorola-founded LiMo to add more handsets

Hi, I'm new to the openezx list; I don't yet own a compatible phone, but I will be buying a phone shortly. From the mailing list archives I've gleaned that there are EZX phones [that are openable] and MOTOMAGX phones that have firmware and root fs locked down.

From what I understand, MotoMAGX is very close if not identical to what LiMo's OS will be. Targeting this iteration of EZX casts the OpenEZX net wider than just Motorola. See: http://wiki.openezx.org/Other_Linux_Phones#LiMo_Foundation ...Which is great, because Motorola is in turmoil.

Not 100% sure if it will work for the Z6, but for the E2 and A1200 I've been able to use ezx-crosstool-0.5 (and dev-ezx-0.2.0). (Crosstools has a homepage, but I couldn't find a dev-ezx homepage, but you can grab it off my libxze2.sourceforge.net page.) -Pat --- [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:

Sorry this is a little OT for the list: Can people with EZX touchscreen phones (other than A1200e) tell me what x,y coords the driver reports for the top-left and bottom-right corners? (Also- congrats to OpenMoko for grabbing front-page today on phonescoop) Thanks, Pat
