For anyone interested, I picked up two A910 new in box (made in Germany,
branded British Telecom) for $125 USD each (for you Europeans, that's like 5
Euros now). Price is buy it now and they came with a free car charger and
case.
It's a pretty nice phone. It's got WiFi and a different
How is the framebuffer memory organized? e.g. if I open /dev/fb0,
mmap it and try to draw stuff, is each pixel 18 bits, or 3 bytes
aligned in a particular way?
It sort of funky. Here's a couple of macros:
#define xze2_writeRGBpixelTo666(p,R,G,B) { p[0]=((G0x0C)4)|(B2);

Hmm, I have seen such devices. Seems to be a real business
around this kind of stuff.
I still doubt that they could unbrick your device if you
have messed up the bootloader.
I was hopeful because they show diagrams on their support site for connecting

Oh, then I misread your previous mail.
Well, spare time at work. We have some software that we demo on the E2, and
now the A1200(e) via my libxze2. We would like to demo on more modern
I'm going to start experimenting with the bootloader on my V8. Any suggestions

The MotoMAGX phones are listed on the LiMo Handset
page. Oddly, I'm not sure how much of that is real.
It may just be for Motorola-founded LiMo to add more

Hi,
I'm new to the openezx list; I don't yet own a
compatible phone, but I will be buying a phone
shortly. From the mailing list archives I've
gleaned that there are EZX phones [that are
openable] and MOTOMAGX phones that have firmware
and root fs locked down.

From what I understand, MotoMAGX is very close if not
identical to what LiMo's OS will be. Targeting this
iteration of EZX casts the OpenEZX net wider than just
Motorola.
See:

...Which is great, because Motorola is in turmoil.
Has anyone started a wiki page on MOTOMAGX security
yet? It looks like MOTOMAGX security is what should
probably be expected for LiMo handsets in general.

Not 100% sure if it will work for the Z6, but for the
E2 and A1200 I've been able to use ezx-crosstool-0.5
(and dev-ezx-0.2.0).
(Crosstools has a homepage, but I couldn't find a
dev-ezx homepage, but you can grab it off my
libxze2.sourceforge.net page.)

Can people with EZX touchscreen phones (other than
