Yep, they do. I don't looked at their codebase, but there are only
some small differences btw GPL, LGPL, GPL2, GPL3. But in the base
they're all the same, if you modify the code, you have to release it
to the public. On your side, Sebastian, I would write them a freindly
email, telling them that t
and the more I read about it... actually persony.com is already violating
the LPGL.
The do not only use OpenMeetings as Library, they modified it. In order to
the terms of the LPGL they have to:
- make the source code public available
- redistribute the source code only licensed as GPL or LPGL.
so
there is no real reason for v2 or v3. I read some articles about v3 but I am
not sure about the real changes from v2 to v3. A BSD styled license would be
also an option.

that code does whatever he would like to customize and use it in its own
company. But I would like to restrict users from using source, rework it,
put a new label on top and say *et voila* I made a new product. If so they

Yes that's fair, but how can you be sure everyone will give their code ?Anyway

hi,
I agree with you, but I don't use Openmeentings for comercial product, I
wanted only a module of video conference for my moodle platform and I found
yours.
I'm working for a State School and We need this module for help to children
better. All Software that We use is Software Free.
Thank you
hi,
I am thinking of releasing the next package under GPLv2
GPLv2 forces anybody who re-uses the package to release all of its content
also under the GPL.
The reason is for that is I find commercial product like for example
persony.com are using parts of OpenMeetings (screen-sharing client) but t
