Hi Kristof.
Sorry about the bounce. This is due to that I'm attempting to get my *very*
broken mail-server working with a new Linux release. I do not expect the
'permanent error' that you experienced to happen again.
Here's an update on my vote, which include the new 'keyhole' icon:

Dear OpenOCD community,
I've registered some more votes from community members
(thank you). I also had the request from Martin Meyer
to draw a new logo inspired on the typical open-source
symbol. Please have a look, it's logo nr. 10:

Thanks for the feedback Jens! Sorry if I sounded too harsh.
I get your point now, and I had forgotten the D on OCD meaning. But I think
a zap and a bug and a chip is too much information for a logo. Maybe it
would be better to keep just one of then with the chip.
Cheers,
Martin

Hi Martin.
I absolutely agree with you on OpenOCD (Open-On-Chip-Debugger) is for more than
killing bugs.
My main reason for suggesting the 'bug' is that the 'D' in OpenOCD is an
abbreviation for "Debugger".

Hi guys,
I haven't developed anything for the OpenOCD, so I don't think my vote
should count as a developer. Bus as a "customer", I'd like to say that I
like the logo idea from opensource/openhardware communities, because of the
relation with the "OPEN" word:

The voting is not clear to me - what do 2nd and 3rd preferences get?
1st preference = +4
2nd preference = ?
3rd preference = ?
4th preference = -4
If 2nd gets +2 and 3rd gets -2 then it is not linear?

Hi Kristof.
None of the logos suggested, really caught my eye as being 'this is OpenOCD'.
How about a chip on a spraycan and a cross over an insect ?
... or just a cross over an insect on a chip ?

If you want to properly handle this vote, you should let every voter rank
the options, instead of letting them change their vote based on perceived
results. I like https://civs.cs.cornell.edu/ for this, but there are other
sites that let you do it.
I have no opinion on which logo should be chosen,
I would like to move my vote to A4 if that's ok now?

well, there are many voting systems, but for choosing a logo I think we can do
it without special software.
the systems we can consider are:

Hi,
I vote for A4, A6 and B4. On A6 I would remove the fading effect and
would rather use a solid color as in the header.
Thanks for your effort!

after the first round we have 5 votes for A1 and 8 agains, so I would not
declare A1 the winner yet.

Hi Kristof,
Why instead defining the Logos to OpenOCD on Embeetle don't we call a
contest to community submit a logo to OpenOCD?
Not that your logo are bad, they aren't, but I think the community
could submit great logos.
My chip uses BGA package and it said he felt discriminated against! :-)

Hi,
I've uploaded my first commit - a set of logos for OpenOCD

Dear developers,
I developed some logos for OpenOCD and pushed them to the repo.
Shortly after that, I had surgery and needed some time to recover.
After recovery, I had to catch up with work. Now I'm back - my apologies
for being so late.

Dear developers,
As I've seen no logo from OpenOCD anywhere, I've designed one myself in
inkscape and added it to this mail.
openocd_logo_01.png -> a black-and-white version
openocd_logo_02.png -> a coloured version
Please let me know if you like it. I can send you the .svg files too.
