Starting from a running, single-host grid hypergrid.
I want to add a simulator on a different host.
Should I change anything in OpenSim.ini/GridCommon.ini, besides
http_listener_port? I find no reference to the simulator's address.

Check your firewalls and any NAT-mediated connections between your external
regions and robust host.
Cheers

Port 9070 is mapped to the machine running the region I try to link
to the grid.
I use the same port for the simulator and the region.

To check my new simulator configuration (setup from a virgin 0.8
tarball), I moved it to the grid host and the problem persists. So
there is obviously a basic problem with my configuration.
I will compare my configuration to the configuration I use for the 6
working simulators of the grid and
That was a totally stupid error.
The NETGEAR FVS338 web interface has separate entries for TCP and UDP
when mapping ports.
My TCP rule was correctly mapping TCP traffic, but my UDP rule was
mapping TCP also.
I feel ashamed.

all regions.

Yes, and this is the only thing to change. It is surprisingly easy to
move a simulator from a host to another, over a LAN or the

Yeah the need for a DNS name scheme here is thoroughly overstated. In fact,
it adds more complexity and is something I typically do only *after*
getting everything working fine.

Hello Everyone .. I'm encountering a strange issue. It seems to crop up
once in a while. One of the regions on the grid, starting about a week ago,
is showing an Auction ID in the landmark. I've checked the region DB and
the auction ID field does not contain any valid information and when you
