Yup, thats what I did. I created a separate account, but it still does
not have sandbox features, so now I am waiting for that to get
activated in my new gmail account.

I think there was a talk in another thread about GGE not supporting
opensocial 5.0. I am facing the same problem as you are, but I havent
got it working yet, which is frustrating. Did you try adding that
application in sandbox.orkut.com.
