Just remove the parameters "params[gadgets.io.RequestParameters.AUTHORIZATION]
= gadgets.io.AuthorizationType.SIGNED;" . That's why it's giving you an
error.
Actually it does a post, using js api. If you're familiar with jquery, it's
almost the same doing an async post to a server.

Now get it to work following his script.
It is an error that was occurring in return for JSON, but it was the way he
was doing the query.
Just a question, it does use REST or JS API? Or is there something that is
advisable to use REST?

You can use javascript only, making requests from the gadget to your server.
You can use JSON and parse back to javascript, it's a common operation.
The function, which does that it gadgets.io.makeRequest .
