You need a separate disk
Have you guys tried using something like Octave (a freeware MATLAB
clone). It might not be MATLAB, buts its free. We've had luck with it
on the Linux environment without many problems.

upgrade, it is kinda scary. But you learn a lot about Solaris and
the innards of disk partitioning and slicing and the boot process.

slice 4 might be a candidate.
If your disk is "c0d0", then you can check with "mount | grep c0d0s4" if it has
been mounted and check with grep c0d0s4 /etc/vfstab if it shows up there.
You may also "mount -F ufs c0d0s4 /mnt", then look at /mnt if there's anything
of value to you.

Mathworks choice not to have a 'native' Solaris x86
version. Not to say that wouldn't change anytime soon
with the right connections.

You should run the latest bits of Nevada (SXDE and SXCE works fine) in order to
run branded zones. Download the centos tarball and follow the instructions in
the documentation.
