Hi,
I installed OpenSolaris w/ Crossbow snapshot (snv_61-xb_15) on an x86 machine
and would like to setup LDAP to authenticate ssh logins. The LDAP server is
OpenLDAP on a Linux box.
I init LDAP client with the following cmd:
ldapclient manual \
-a defaultSearchBase=dc=some,dc=edu \
-a default
Looks like a botched string conversion.
Biggest clue:
strlen(0x28)
That means the code is trying to take the length of a string with an address
really close to 0. That's pretty much guaranteed in this case to be either a
null pointer dereference, or a snprintf format-argument mismatch, where

There may never be a "Solaris 11" -- Sun hasn't decided yet what to
call it or what to do for a release. However, if you're asking when

Hi,
does anyone have a rough idea when one could expect a formal release of Solaris
11?
Sorry for the question; I was just wondering when I could expect Rational to
fix their
ClearCase product to run on OpenSolaris. Most likely that would be when
OpenSolaris becomes
a formal Solaris 11 release

Sorry I am new to the open Solaris community. I heard a lot about the Solaris
11 and would like to know more about its new features in the storage/IO stack
and applications that manages storage stack. Are Solaris 11 and SXDE mean the
same product? Where can I find new feature list in Solaris 11

Hi everyone,
I was wondering if you're considering to include a Graphic Utility to Add
Software in Solaris Indiana.
I don't have problems with using pkgadd or pkg-get or any other commands, but I
believe that if we really want that the regular end-users adopt Solaris, then a
usual task as addi

Hi thanks for your posts so far. Since what I had assumed was a 32 bit kernel
which I compiled didn't work, I religiously set out on compiling a 64 bit
version as my system is currently booted in 64 bit mode.
I installed SUNStudio12 on the system and set the SPRO_VROOT to point towards

Thank you for the hint. I "googled" about this topic and found a
relatively simple guide to switch from cde-login to gdm. It can
be found on a Sun page:

Furthermore the step to change from cde-login to gdm was just at
the right time. CDE commonly ca

You mean login manager? It's `dtlogin`.

Hi

It is definitively not gdm. Because I wanted to start gdmsetup
which stated that it (gdm) would be not in use.
I would have liked to play around with some fancy login screens,
but do not know how to configure them with CDE (dtlogin
