I'm trying to change my uid through edit /etc/passwd. Also I did 'chown
-R halton /export/home/halton'. After logout and login, there are lots
errors. gnome-sessoin, gnome-panel, iiim-panel will report error message
like:

After I run 'rm -rf /var/tmp/*halton*', my problem is solved.

Yes. Sincee gconf keeps some data in $TMPDIR/gconfd-user name and
that directory is read/write only by that user id.

X it is healthy, but many prefer to work in the console.
It would be quite good to specify to a kernel something like vga=791 or to
have possibility to run something like setfont.

Yesterdays upgrade resulted in some mailman-Jive gateway problems. At
this point mail is coming out of Jive, but importing mail back into it
from mailman seems inconsistent. We are working on the issue but at this
point do not have an ETA.
For the time being, the mailman archives are your best
