I'm using SXCE build 99.
I cannot install oss due to installation failures (kernel panic during
install).
I am wondering if there is another audio mixer using sunaudiosink which will

Perhaps using uname would be a better way to distinguish the releases? This
is in machine-readable format, from what I understand...

Hiya,
I'm patching a bit of software to work on opensolaris which uses
/etc/release to get system information from. I've only got indiana
installed here and I'm not sure how different /etc/release is on sxde.
It would be nice to make it work on both. Could someone with sxde

Hi,
My jumpstart no longer works as of build snv_99. Build snv_98 works fine.
Problem occurs on both SPARC and x64 architectures. Is there an existing

Here is what I have done.
1) Machine memory reduced to only 2GB
2) Booted OpenSolaris 2008.05 LiveCD
3) Installed to harddrive (as assumed the log files would be reset at boot)
4) restarted and booted from hard drive to make sure all ok
5) shutdown added memory to 8GB
6) booted - had to hold
Hi Martin
Failsafe mode is textonly.
Not too sure how I can send log files where it doesn't work as the machine
doesn't respond to any inputs - need to pull the plug to reboot?
I think I will boot with 2GB and get all the log files you mention - as I am

Does not seem to work and then local accounts (i.e. root) are not seen as valid
ones unless LDAP is down (which is not what we need) We just need a single
account to only be able to login if LDAP is down. I suppose I could put
