I don't have any silver bullets here but I have a couple of suggestions.
My experience is on junk hardware with Solaris 10 at home and a variety
of small to large sparc hardware running Solaris 9 or Solaris 10 at work.
First, drop into the BIOS setup menu and make sure all the SATA ports
can be a

I also need to add, that inbetween of unconfigure/disconnect/connect/configure
cycle I've also added several invocations of devfsadm -C -- which might be
perhaps the right reason I've lost the disk for sata0/3 which was presented
before.
I don't remember well, but the new drive which was identi

But fortunately still doable: I've finally upgraded my Blade 1500 with
XVR-600 from SX:CE build 130
Solaris 10 should at least support the graphics card. I guess it depends what

Releases (Nevada, which for a while came out every two weeks) as well as
OpenSolaris (indiana?, which came out every several months.)
The appeal big appeal of OpenSolaris was that it provided some of the
functionality of S
Hello,
to put this information into context. I guess when I booted with both new
drives attached for the first time fmd complained about some issue and then one
of the two drives was not present in cfgadm list. I suspected bad SATA cable so

Face the fact that OpenSolaris is dead and has been since March 2010. Either
get behind Solaris 10 and its heir apparent, or find another operating system
besides Solaris-based.
The reason OpenSolaris had as large a user base and downloads as it did was
because Sun supported a binary release.
Hello,
I'm currently trying to grow my rpool mirror by replacing old drives with new
drives. To my surprise when I connected both new drives and booted just one
showed in cfgadm. I've tested to unconfigure/disconnect/connect/configure the
not-shown drive but nothing happen. I've tested the same
