We are excited to announce Surge 2011, the Scalability and Performance
Conference, to be held in Baltimore on Sept 28-30, 2011. The event focuses
on case studies that demonstrate successes (and failures) in Web
applications and Internet architectures. This year, we're adding Hack Day on
September
I would like to know what modern Graphic cards are supported for SPARC
architecture servers, for OpenSolaris, Solaris 10u9, Solaris11Express
and OpenIndiana and so on.
I see there are drivers for Solaris x86 on Nvidia site, noting on AMD.
What options do one have if wants to put one ore
Hi,
The two graphics card options you should look at are the XVR-300 and XVR-2500
for SPARC. All other graphics cards are EOL and don't have support in the Xorg
consolidation in OpenSolaris and Solaris 11. It would be nice if there were
some
Nvidia cards that worked on SPARC, since they work
Hi ,
On solaris 10 man page it states that i can use
tinker panic 0 on /etc/inet/ntp.conf but when i use it i get
xntpd[4374]: [ID 241925 daemon.error] configure: keyword tinker
unknown, line ignored
my aim is to by-pass 1000s difference for client and server.
Regards.
Are you running on Solaris 10 or OpenSolaris or Solaris 11 Express? If
you are running one of the latter two, then I would advise against using
the S10 man pages as a reference, as many things have changed since S10.
If you're running Solaris 10, have you applied the latest man page patch

Hi,
Yes only the XVR-300 and XVR-2500 are supported going forward for Solaris on
SPARC. With the end of the SPARC workstation market, video cards on SPARC have
declined. There use to be a huge list of cards that were supported with Xsun.
But since Xsun has been replaced in Solaris 11 with Xorg
