I just completed a fresh install of the x86 version of B59 on an IBM
Thinkpad A21p and there seems to be an issue with the gnome startup.
When logging in as root or normal user it immediately goes back to
the login window. Logging in using CDE works. I started up in
failsafe mode

While not as precise as Dennis' answer a quick and dirty one:
zdump -v $TZ | grep 2007
On my B56 system it shows:
alpha% zdump -v $TZ | grep 2007

It seems there are new boot options on the install DVD. There is a
developer version, the default, in the grub menu. This option
requires 768MB for the installer. It quits on my system with 512MB
and says try the non-developer version. That version is happily
installing on my Thinkpad
