I have the same problem in b40 on a Sun v1100z..
JDS 4 Gnome 14.x
It will mount cd-rom's with data on them... open folder and all... but when I
put a music cd in the drive I get the error: "Sound Juicer could not find any
CD-ROM drives to read."

Yes.
Their also needs to be more "user friendly" admin tools for the "casual" user
like in Windows or Mac.
When this happens adoption will become higher. Think of all the collage
students who would like to use OpenSolaris but managing it is just to expensive
