Last night I started playing with VirtualBox in an attempt to get it to
run on a Cobalt Raq 4, running Redhat EL 3. ;-) Hey, it's all about

Personally I really like the /root thing. But, big but, that's only
because I hate all those "/.ghatever" :) files in my root filesystem.
And that just because the root user used a browser or some other GUI
program.
And that brings me to my main point, why would 'root' ever, ever use a
browse

The way I've overcome the 'no DVD' problem in the past has been to
lofi-mount your DVD iso on another server, exporting it through NFS and
then do a network install. For that however, you still need to have CD
number 1. Not sure if you can use a CD from a slightly different version.
