I have bought and use the
Supermicro AOC-SAT2-MV8
card. It gets detected right out of the box by the Solaris install CD/DVD. It
works really well. I use a [EMAIL PROTECTED] and 1 GB RAM, 4 Samsung 500GB
discs. As the computer is 32 bit, I achieve something like 20MB/sec transfer
rate ZFS. A 64
I highly recommend this controller. It's the one that Sun uses and the driver
support is very good. I would disable NCQ in /etc/system. When I did this I
solved some strange timeout failures. There has been a driver fix that
supposedly fixes this, but I haven't had a reason to switch it back o

I have pretty much the exact same question: Where can I find a multi-port SATA
(ideally SATA2) disk controller (non-RAID) for use with Solaris-10 to build a
