Hello, I installed my Solaris in a new Intel Desktop Board D945GCLF2 with atom
processor, the NIC is integrated and I can't make it work with the OS!... Does
anyone knows if there are some drivers our there?, I've read that is a Realtek
chipset for the network card but not pretty sure about it..
when comparing the different images using compare command in the Solaris
snv_96, if the size of images are different , the compare does not seem to
work in the next step. so i cann't get the the db val of the images , how can i
get the db val when the image size differs the other's ?
thanks

You don't need to do anything.
Basically, after you boot from
Also you can add a non interactive options for luveupgrad20 -noconsole
-nodisplay and there is the new lux86menu_propagate: i.e:
#!/bin/ksh -x

MEDIA=/zones/install/10u5

after you run lucreate , then run friom the CD sub directory
Solaris_11/Tools/Installers/liveupgrade20 updates lu packages for you. then you
run the luupgrade. you should not need to install these packages by hand.
I have a RFE 6662413 to make note of this in the man pages for

Thanks again, everyone. When I install SUNWlur and SUNWluu from the B97 disk,
it warns me to check sunsolve.sun.com to see if any patches are required. Of
course, sunsolve knows nothing of 5.11. So do I need any patches to B86 before
doing Live Upgrade to B97?

So, I sort-of got it working on OpenSolaris 2008.11-preview. I am going to
guess that it would be about the same (I had the exact same issues) with the
older version.
Here's what I did:
Intstalled SUNWdhcs, dhcsb, dhcm packages for DHCP.
Touched /usr/dt/config/sessionetc
Ran utcfg -A

Hello all,
I ran the upgrade from the stock 2008.05 release to b99. I followed the proper
instructions, and successfully got a bootable environment... with one issue.
On startup, I get a service failure for the gtk-icon-cache, and the service
transitions to maintenance mode. I attempted to run

I tried it on three computers running Solaris, not one single worked (one Q6600
CPU, one 64-bit AMD and
one server with two dual core Opterons.)
All these machines have dual boot Linux installed and under this OS I can mount
this same USB stick.
So I think it's not related to the BIOS or USB 1 or
I've got a set of external hard drives I hook up to my OS 2008.05 box that I
run some backups onto. I do some zfs send/recv's over to the drive, then export
the pool, then pull out the drive, put in the next one (same usb port), and
then I'm set for my next day's backups.
That seemed to work fo

I would look into if it's USB 1 or USB 2. Older computers or USB-Sticks
only support USB 1.

What does your configuration look like the /etc/nsswitch.conf should be

After the lucreate and before the luupgrade, run this from the dvd or mounted
iso image for ether i86pc or Sparc.

Then it should have you run this:

The DRM folks did release their src before those eventually moved into OS/Net:
bash-3.2$ pwd

I have tried this several times. Twice, I used an local lofi image.
Since I've got a zfs boot disk, I figured it might be an interaction
between the lofi image and zfs. Then I tried moving the image to
my nfs server and sharing out the lofi mounted image.
Same thing happens.

There is nothing wrong with the Transcend, since it works on other OS.
I think the controller of the USB-stick might be the problem.

i've used many Transcend and Kingston drives, and all of them have
worked on Solaris.. there isnt really a "batch" that wont work on
solaris but work on Windows/linux. Your Transcend drive may be damaged

When i try to install SXCE-99 into an LDOM it doesnt recognise my virtual disk:
