Hi all,
I would like to know what is the best way to erase the harddisk before the
disposal of a E420 server.
Thanks

It's built into Package Manager. Just let it load the repository and any
updates will be available by choosing to show Updates from the ComboBox

No, I couldn't boot the DVD in single user mode because I don't know how. I
did boot the DVD and gather some of the information. Some of the format
commands were impossible, as you will see in the format1.out typescript.

Hi,
FWIW, I have a Dell XPS laptop with a nVidia 7900 GS video card and

I've wrestled with similar issues in various Linux distros and ended
up spending around $20 for a dedicated nVidia cards for the aux
display. It ended up being a very easy solution. I have not,
however, played with this on OpenSolaris.

Just to clarify - does OpenSolaris use both monitors when they are connected at
the same time? If not, have you tried right clicking on the desktop and using
the tool that appears to configure the screens?
Thanks
Andrew.

Are you still having issues with iscsi setup, or are you referring to
different issues?
I don't have any iscsi stuff set up at the moment, but the last time I

Ram use is not a bad thing. Most good Unix variants will use as much
memory as they can to speed up applications. ZFS does this too.
A better test might be to run 'iostat -x 5' or something similar while
the slowdown is going on, so that you can see if the machine is
actually running *out* of me

What's going on with this forum?
Is this the right place for help?
Is it dead?
Or am I the only person trying to get involved with opensolaris, set it up, and
use it?
Or are you all Advanced Solaris Administrators with no time to give helpfull
answers to not so advanced users?
Excuse the flam
I managed to make it work.
I was not using the "-V size" switch when creating the zfs filesystem, thinking
that this way I would assign the whole size of the pool.
When I used the switch, everything worked fine.
Thanx for the help not.
