According to http://opensolaris.org/os/project/ext3/Documentation/quick_start/
installing driver is only about copying compiled module to specified directory,
so there should be no problem in "uninstalling" it (just delete the file).

bartus11,
Can I install the driver and then un-install it or I will have to re-install
the system? I'm talking about the ext2/ext3 driver, not the FSWfsmisc...
Thank you.

Here is project page for ext2/ext3 driver:
http://opensolaris.org/os/project/ext3/. For info how to test it click "Quick
start" on the left menu. As for accessing ext partitions through FSWfsmisc
check this blog:

Hi, bartus11,
Define "difficult to configure". Is there a documentation on how to do it?
I'm willing to experiment with it and try it out.
Also, I would be more than happy to test an ext2/ext3 driver to help with it
development. Are you on the dev team for it? If not who should I contact?
Thank
OpenSolaris supports UFS, FAT32 and ZFS natively. To access ext2/ext3
partitions you need to install additional packages (FSWfsmisc), and it is bit
more difficult to configure. There is ext2/ext3 driver being developped for
opensolaris but it is in early stage so far (not beta yet).

Hi, Andrew,
Is there a support for ext2/ext3 filesystem? Or better yet what filesystem
besides ZFS are supported?
Thank you.

Hi, Alan,
Another reason I want to tweak the kernel is that I need access to the ReiserFS
file system on the Linux, since the computer is a dual-boot.
Unless I need some third-party software or I can somehow verify that kernel
does supports it...
Thank you.

Thank you, Alan.
That clarifies it.

Hi, rlhamil,
First I need to make sure I have support for a USB device and for ext2/ext3
file system.
I am developing a program which is stored there, and want to compile it under
OpenSolaris.
Second, I want to check what video card is installed in the kernel, as I have
some defficiencies.

Depends on what you want.
See http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/819-2724?l=en
Really, it's not _meant_ to be "tweaked" much though,
many tunables have dynamic values depending on for example
the amount of RAM installed
Hi, ALL,
Is it possible to tweak the kernel on the system?
Thank you.
