I used openssl0.9.6 to test, and I found it leaked almost 400 bytes every
connection.
But now I used the same client program, used openssl0.9.6b,I am puzzled
it's memory leaks exceed 400bytes too much.
Why?

Hi,
I am running cswift on Linux 2.2.17 using regular Apache. After a
load test is over, I see the followings:
140 D abuser1700 1688 2 60 0- 1206 end19:52 ?
00:00:24ab-helper -f /USR/A/conf/httpd.conf
This process stays in this state forever and it can not be killed.
After building openssl for HPUX11 using aCC, I get the
following error when running the test suite:
bash-2.04$ ./bntest > /dev/null
test BN_add
test BN_sub
test BN_lshift1
Left shift one test failed!
The last few lines (with stdout included) are:
test BN_lshift1

Dear Richard,
Assume you are using RedHat 7.1
try this:
Remove broken link if you remove ssl rpm.
# rm /usr/lib/libcrypto.so.1
# rm /usr/lib/libssl.so.1
insert line /usr/local/ssl/lib in /etc/ld.so.conf
# ldconfig -v
# cd /usr/local/ssl/lib
# ln -f -s libssl.so libssl.so.1
# ln -f -s libcry
I have, for two days, been banging my head on trying to install this
apache server with mod_ssl. I keep having problems. I have tried
absolutely everything I can think of to try to fix this. I have searched
all of the postings and tried their "solutions". Nothing works.
Here is my OS ...

There are still a few memory leaks that can't be cleaned up without
modifying openssl. It is only a few bytes, but they're real. Tee development
team has said they are aware of it (check the archives) but it is a
relatively low priority item.

Hmm... 160-bit public exponent ... that is a little strange. It sounds like
the requirement for a (relatively weak) Diffie-Hellman exponent, not an RSA
exponent. I know of no weaknesses with using any of the small RSA encrypt
exponents (such as

Hi! Did you get all of the openssl packages from Red Hat? I can't verify right now
because I am booted into the Windows side of my machine, but I suspect that those 2
libraries are probably in openssl-devel... or possibly one of the sources rpms.
