Try setting the video driver in xorg.conf to vesa. You can edit
xorg.conf with this command (if you have nano installed otherwise you
need to use vi):
nano -w /etc/X11/xorg.conf

After installing 10.3, a clean install, I have no windows display
anymore. All I have is a text display. I try to run Sax2, including
sax2 -r, sax2 -r -m 0=nv, and Yast2 to correct the problem but they all
die before getting to any graphic display. I have tried installing both
the 64bit and

Has anyone else had problems installing VMs using Virtualbox OSE that cam with
10.3. I get the following error every time I start a VM.
VirtualBox kernel driver not installed. The vboxdrv kernel module was either
not loaded or /dev/vboxdrv was not created for some reason. Re-setup the kerne

How can I set up SUSE updater to check for updates for some period?
Default settings is set to check for update every day, but the problem
is that it checks for update after every reboot, which is very annoying.
I tried both options, "every day" and "every other day", but the result

Hey, all --
Just updated a 10.1 machine to 10.3, which went smoothly. Now, though,
I'm running into an issue.
When I try to start a virtual machine with "xm create ...", the domU
fails to start.
Figuring that this was a problem with the config file format changing
from Xen 3.0.3 to Xen 3.1.0,

Hi,
I would like to install a 32 bit system and a 64 bit system side by
side. The 32 bit is the only system currently on the machine and took
the default installation on grub - this is sitting on one hard disk.
I would like to install a 64 bit system - on a separate disk.
I did try this and forg

Hi!
Sometimes when i start OpenSuSE 10.3 with connected USB sound card or connect
it to loaded pc it's not properly starts with this messages in console:
ACPI: PCI Interrupt :00:1b.0[A] -> GSI 21 (level, low) -> IRQ 21
PCI: Setting latency timer of device :00:1b.0 to 64
ALSA sound/usb/us
in the BIOS, why don't you set it to native mode and then create s/w
RAID in Suse/yast. thats what you are trying to do, right?

K9copy creates movies that are all "blocky." It's not handling the video
correctly. I had this problem sometime ago, and now can't remember what
I did to fix it! K9copy also crasses part way through a copy. Also,
can't play encrypted videos.yes I did update all the multimedia stuff.
Any help i

I have an Nvidia MCP51 chipset but it uses the HDA driver but I didn't
have any issues with OpenSUSE 10.3, it detected the card and it plays
