I am new to this community help thing, so please bare with me...
I can't view jpegs in Konqueror. It does not recognize the format.
I think I accidentally changed the setting for jpegs in Konqueror, but I
am not sure exactly what it was.
I can view jpegs in digicam, but not in konqueror.
I have to say that I'm getting pretty upset and disapointed with some of
the inconsistencies of OSL 10.2...especially with the XGL and ZEN update
service.

Wow that fixed the update issue...but why does renaming the file with a
different extension fix this issue? What is really happening?

a file basically deletes it (makes it invisible to what is looking
for it) causing the using application to rebuild it. Re-naming instead of
actually deleting gives you the option to restore the original if need be.
