I had been running 10.3 with a GeForce 7300GT video card with great
success. A few days ago the updater applet included updated nvidia
drivers in the list of available updates.After the update compiz s
The pop settings on my account were disabled. this fixed the problem. I
guess its like the tab setting on Firefox getting turned back on with
some of the updates. Very annoying if you prefer tabs turned off.

I am running 10.3 up until this point with out any trouble. I don't
