this directory. (or download iso's, and add those)
From then on, no need to change cd's anymore.

Another suggestion:
I keep all (several hundred) of my id's, passwords, pins, etc etc on n
usb-stick.
The stick has two partitions,
One protected with a passphrase, and a unprotected area.
I have to remember only one passpharase, and can open it on any of my
linux boxes, either at home or
remember it:
First you create the md1, and there is no need to format it.
Then back in the partitions _main_ menu, you choose LVM, and add md1 to a
volume group. (system, for example)
Then you create lvm logical volumes, and format _those_.
Hope this helps,

There are certain cli equivalents for yast menu choices, and it would
be nice to see them somewhere on-screen being 'composed' upon
choosing them in the menus.

Now THAT is a pretty

what please is the command, to find the Dynamic DNS Number,
assigned to me today by my ISP ?
I guess: ifconfig
and look for inet addr: x.x.x.x
normally you should look for the inet address under eth0.
hope that helps,

Suddenly I realise:
I downloaded
http://instlux.sourceforge.net/testing_builds/instluxCDROMOpenSuSE10_3.exe
Does that mean I have to have a cdrom in the drive, containing opensuse
10.3? That would explain the issue...
I assumed to would try a net-install...

Meanwhile i've tried the netinstall version, and it also fails with the

I see this as well, under windows. :-) (using nero)
I always believed it has something to do with the burn protection

The original poster did not say that the shutdown command is issued from
the ssh session. That's an assumption made later by Harris.
Right...
I got on too late.
Anyway, thanks for explaining the real problem.

There's a thing that puts a Reply Group button on the toolbar, but it
won't install because it's, Not compatible with Firefox.
Last time I saw that was when I tried to install a _thunderbird_
extension in _firefix_.
Thunderbird: Tools, add-ons, install

try:

hi all,
This issue is really about sles9. Please point me to the right list is
there is one...
Anyway, I have found the following serious issue on sles9, sp3, fully up

After a powercut machines with LVM partitions formatted with ReiserFS
with an active snapshot do not boot

Yast, insserv and chkconfig all claim this dependency, and therefore

I want to disable postfix in my default runlevel (3), but my system
(sles9, sp3) claims that scalix (mailserver software) depends on
postfix, and will then be disabled as well.
I know that scalix does
